It is recommended that children get 60 minutes a day of physical activity. Please use these ideas to keep your child motivated and engaged, but do what they enjoy!
Balloons always seem to motivate children. For this activity all you need are balloons and swimming noodles cut in half. Have a contest to see who can keep the balloon in the air the longest by only using their swimming noodle!
The great thing about this activity is that you have a new use for the empty milk jugs! You and your child can play catch using a cut milk jug and either a homemade ball or a ball from around the house. The ball that is pictured is newspaper rolled into a ball and then taped to keep it in a circle.
This activity is great on a hot summer day. Make water balloons and then use chalk to draw a target on the sidewalk. Make each target worth a set amount of points and the first person to 10 points wins!
Make a physical activity cube. Roll it and do the activities together!
This activity involves a "do it yourself" project. You will need to attach velcro to mini wiffle balls. Then put on your gloves and play catch. The ball will stick to your gloves, this will allow your child to catch the ball successfully!
How cute is this? The beanbags are made to look like cookies. You can copy this same idea or use what you child likes. For example you could do a picture of a dog and toss in dog bones/treats.
When it is raining outside no need to sit and watch TV when you can golf in your living room!
This looks like a great game to not only move your body, but work on your numbers too! Make this activity an addition, subtraction, multiplication game.
Here is another way to move your body and work on your numbers!
